Have you lost faith in your dreams? The Lightworker’s Way gave me hope.

Currently I am re-reading Doreen Viritue’s book The Lightworker’s Way. Doreen Virtue is definitely one of my favorite authors, her books really spoke to me when I was first getting started on my spiritual path several years ago. In fact, I believe The Lightworker’s Way was the first of her books that I read.
I remember when I read the book the first time, I felt so inspired by her story, and at the same time I felt so sad because I wanted to be a lightworker and at the time I didn’t think that I was. According to Doreen Virtue, a lightworker is “someone who volunteered, before birth, to help the planet and its population heal from the effects of fear.” Each lightworker has their own specific purpose to fulfill on Earth, and no one else can fulfill that purpose for them.
I so wanted to be a lightworker. I felt that it was just another dream that I wanted but couldn’t have. It worked for her, but it wouldn’t work for me. I just wasn’t that special or talented. I read her book and even though I didn’t believe at the time that I would ever be a lightworker, a seed was planted in me. I began reading every book of Doreen Virtue’s that I could get my hands on. Even though I didn’t believe it possible at the time, I had hope that I would someday be able to help others the way that she had helped me.
Now, as I read her book a second time I have an entirely different perspective. I am a lightworker. My coaching practice is unfolding before me and I have the privileged of helping others on a daily basis. I get to help people not just exist in the world, but to live a life that they are absolutely in love with. And that is the biggest gift I could have ever been given.
I also know this, there is someone out there who needs to hear this statement. You are a lightworker too. You know who you are. You’re the one who, as you read this, longs to make a difference, but you no longer believe that you can. For whatever reason you have learned that your dreams are not possible. They are. If I can do it, you can do it. You may not feel much hope or faith in your dreams any more, but they are still there within you, and they are waiting for the opportunity to come forward.
So how can you regain your belief in your dreams?
1. Be open.
Simply say to the world that you are ready for something different and be open and aware of what comes your way. Don’t start trying to figure out how to make your life change or even what you want your life to be. Ask for hope, ask for guidance and let it come to you in what ever form it decides to take.
2. Start working on you
Changing your life happens from the inside out. Start consuming all the information that you can on becoming the person that you want to be. When I first started I read everything I could get my hands on. Remember though, having the information is only part of the process. It’s how you use the information that matters.
3. Take it one step at a time.
You’re not going to suddenly wake up tomorrow with the life of your dreams. It takes time for the world to catch up to the changes that you have made in yourself. Trust that as you grow the world will reflect those changes in time.
4. All it takes is a little bit of faith.
One of the things that the law of attraction teaches is that you have to believe that what you want is already yours. I actually disagree with this point. Yes, the greater your belief that easier and faster you will receive results. But faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. Open yourself up to just a tiny bit of faith and you will see results.
